Geneticist Dr. Leroy Hood, co-founder of the Institute for Systems Biology, researches non-drug ways to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease. His wife, Valerie, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2005 and their son, Eran, carries the gene that significantly increases the risk of getting the disease.
