Because of how popular teeth whitening is, Bestcovery decided to put some whitening products to the test. To help with this, Lumineux sent us one of their whitening kits to review. What's Included?
The whitening kit includes a toothbrush, whitening toothpaste, whitening mouthwash, and a 14-pack of whitening strips. I also tried the two-pack of Bright2 Pens. All of these products were put to the test for two weeks, except for the whitening strips, because the kit comes with a one-week supply. Lumineux products are completely natural and include the same primary ingredients: coconut oil, dead sea salt, and lemon peel oil.
It's important to note that these products are not ADA-approved, but this doesn't mean they aren't safe or effective.

Ease of Use
One of the standout features of the Lumineux Whitening Kit is how easy it is to use. The toothpaste and mouthwash are used like any other standard toothpaste and mouthwash. The whitening strips are relatively simple to apply. However, people with less-than-perfectly straight teeth might have some issues placing them on the lower teeth. Once applied, just leave them on for 30 minutes, and then you can go about the rest of your day.
The Bright2 Pen is also user-friendly, with a simple twist and application. It can be used for whitening or as a stain-repellant. When applied for whitening, wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking. If you want to use it for stain repellant, wait 60 seconds after application before enjoying your favorite staining foods or drinks.
Effectiveness
I only tested the whitening strips for one week, but I still noticed some whitening. Unfortunately, this kit didn't include any kind of whitening guide like many other whitening products. Because of this, it was difficult to gauge just how much whitening occurred.
Value and Cost
This entire kit without the Bright2 Pens is $45 on Amazon. If you add the pens, it's an additional $50, so you'll be spending $100 to get everything I tested. It's pricier than some other whitening products. However, it may still be worth it for those who value natural and organic options.
Comfort
Most whitening strips contain hydrogen peroxide, which can irritate the gums and cause discomfort. However, these strips don't have hydrogen peroxide, so I didn't experience any irritation. They're also very comfortable to wear and barely noticeable when they're on.
Advantages
The products in the Lumineux whitening kit are very convenient to use, especially compared to professional in-office treatments. You can whiten your teeth from the comfort of your own home. They're also all easy to use, and the whitening strips are comfortable to wear.
Another thing to love about these products is the natural ingredients. Lumineux only uses organic ingredients, which is perfect for people who want natural whitening options. These products are less likely to cause irritation because they're free from harsh chemicals like peroxide. This lowers the risk of tooth sensitivity or gum irritation during or after whitening. They're also enamel-safe, so they won't damage the structural integrity of your teeth.
In addition to containing natural ingredients, Lumineux products are vegan and cruelty-free, which shows the company's dedication to sustainability. This kit is an excellent option for people prioritizing ethical and sustainable products.
Disadvantages
Lumineux products can only remove surface stains and may be less effective at removing deep stains caused by things like medications, genetics, or excessive fluoride exposure. While I did see some whitening in the 14 days I tried these products, I don't think they're as effective as professional whitening treatments, especially for those with severe staining or discoloration. There was also no whitening guide, so it was difficult to determine how much my teeth had whitened since I started the treatment.
Like many other organic options, these products can be relatively expensive compared to other teeth whitening alternatives. Also, to maintain whitened teeth, you may need ongoing use or touch-ups, which can cost a lot of money over time.
Applying the whitening strips was relatively easy but may be a bit challenging if your teeth aren't completely straight. In this case, it may be easier just to use the Bright2 Pen.
Is the Lumineux Oral Essentials Whitening Kit Worth It?
Overall, the Lumineux products are worth considering if you're looking for a convenient, organic teeth whitening option. While they may not be as effective as professional treatments, they allow the option to whiten your teeth from your own home and contain gentle ingredients that won't hurt your gums.
